Katherine Buyck began her career in Private Wealth Management with J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Atlanta, GA. Now Managing Director and a financial advisor with Palmetto Asset Advisors, Katherine continues to guide business owners, high net worth families and businesses to align their wealth with their priorities. She emphasizes wealth planning to guide investment decisions.
Katherine earned a B.A. in Architecture from Yale University, where she was also a women’s rowing NCAA Division I athlete and Ivy League Champion. She then spent several years leading business development at TenBerke, a top architectural design firm in New York City.
Katherine earned an M.B.A. in Capital Markets & Investments from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School. She was selected as a Forte Fellow and a Dean’s Fellow and earned a full-tuition merit scholarship. Upon graduating with her MBA, Katherine joined J.P. Morgan Private Bank full-time, advising some of the Southeast’s largest Family Offices and Endowments. Katherine began working with Simms Oliphant after moving back to Columbia, SC with her husband and family.
Katherine and Simms recently founded Palmetto Asset Advisors and affiliated with the national firm LPL Financial. They believe that being Independent Financial Advisors offers their clients more diverse opportunities as well as synergies that can boost net returns.
